Scotland - Kilmartin to Isle of Skye

At Fort William we stopped to explore the Inverlochy Castle ruin. It was built around 1280 by the Lord of Badenoch. This stronghold held the strategic southern entrance to the Great Glen and a number of battles took place here. It had 10m high angled walls to deter scaling ladders and was once behind a deep moat, now filled in.
